Wood Care Instructions
Our wood products have been finished with an all natural, FDA approved, non-petroleum based Tung Oil and Citrus Solvent or Odie’s Oil. The Oil penetrates the wood to give it a food-safe, durable, water-resistant finish. However, your wood product will need ongoing maintenance for it to look beautiful and last for years to come.
Clean your wood with warm water and mild dish soap. Use lemon juice or white vinegar to eliminate smells and stains. For tough stains add baking soda to lemon juice. Lean product vertically to dry all surfaces evenly to prevent warping. Apply fractionated coconut oil (no petroleum), food grade mineral oil, or wood wax monthly to prevent warping and chipping.
Take care when cutting on the resin, it may dull your knives. Cutting may leave both the wood and the resin with slice marks. These can be sanded out and oil or wax applied for finish.
